The bond created between the horse and you is vital for performance success. You spend more time with the horse off track then you do on it. So it's VITAL that you create a good relationship with the horse. They have feelings!

Regular Grooming

A horse is just like any other man on this planet. They need to be well-groomed in order to look appealing in any shape or form. Get rid of all dirt, dust and other particles in the horse's coat. Brush it all out with a comb. It's also been said to help blood circulations and skin health. Grooming the horse daily will promote good overall health and will encourage the horse to perform better.

But this also depends if you own a domesticated horse or a wild horse. Wild horses groom themselves by licking, scratching and rolling. Owners of domesticated horses need to groom their horses in order to look their best.

Horse Grooming Kit

You will need a grooming kit. This kit consists of a hoof pick, two brushes (hard and soft), curry comb, brush for the forelock and the squeegee for the after wash. There is an element of safety you must consider when grooming the horse bear in mind. The horse's head must be tied before you brush, so that it can be controlled. But not too tight, so that it can be easily released.

The Main and Tail

These are two of the most important parts of your horse. Horses are known for the silky, long lock and it needs proper care. It should be brushed DAILY to get rid of any foreign bodies harvested in the hair.

The tail can be washed with the correct shampoo when need be.
